The Avalon Fishing Pier Cam
The Avalon Pier was in built in 1958 and the Avalon beach access is located right next to the pier. After some time in the surf and sand, take a stroll out on the pier and see what folks are catching. Want to get closer to the action? Bring your own poll or rent one from the pier shop. With the renovated bar, “vintage” arcade and Awful Arthurs right across the street, this location has it all. Located at mile post 7.5 – At this access, you will find parrallel parking, showers and a beach look out. In the off season, a full parking lot typcally means some fun surf. We love this access for its close proximity to the Chill Surf Bungalow and its very pet friendly, almost always stocked, puppy poop bags. Keep our OBX beaches clean please! Buxton is a town found along the Cape Hatteras National Sea Shore. It is home to one of Live Swell’s favorite shelling spots, see our post Outer Banks Sea Shells: Secrets from a Shell Whisperer. But Buxton is a visitor favorite for its epic fishing off Cape Point, windsurfing the Canadian Hole or catching the views from The Cape Hatteras Lighthouse, better known as the Wave Magnet, where you may just catch some surf. Tons of hidden gem shops, galleries and restaurants along the way.
