Beach lovers, surfers and waterman are notoriously forgetful. Not sure if it is the beach culture itself, just a common bond or something else.
Anyway, forgetful or not, one of the worst things on a beach trip or surf vacation is missing critical gear that you forgot to pack. Like, whoops! “Forgot my surf trunks, crap! What do I do now?” Hopefully, that gets taken care of or the locals can hook you up with a skimpy.
Today there are lots of local store options in most of the best beach towns to take care of missing gear in case you forget, but its a pain in the ass to deal with. When visiting your favorite beach town or on a surf trip it simply a good idea to be prepared and not have to deal with time consuming tasks.
To help you better prepare for an epic trip, we have a solution, its not perfect yet its better than no solution. We have created a Waterman’s Travel Checklist, a simple easy to use checklist system to avoid missing critical gear. This is what it looks like and you can download a copy by clicking this link Waterman’s Travel Checklist:
We left a few open boxes so you can customize this checklist to your personal preferences:
In this post we will also discuss how you can increase your travel budget almost instantly. Safe travels.
Great read with some good essentials. My wife and I recently got back from a 3 week trip surfing Samoa earlier this month. We stayed in the northeast coast of Upolu. Unfortunately, we had forgotten beanies, flashlights, and most importantly a mosquito net. Luckily, people living in the village were very hospitable and we felt safe the entire trip.
Also don’t forget:
-an extra leash
-plenty of towels
-a dry bag for wallets
-fannypack in case of pick pockets
Cheers!
